MyChoice Homebuy assistnace mortgages

MyChoice HomeBuy mortgages are a very popular programme as it offers qualifying applicant’s access to Equity Loans to assist in the purchase of a property on the open market through an Estate Agent in the usual way.

Successful mychoice applicants have to fund between 50% and 85% of the purchase themselves by raising a residential mortgage. Savings also need to be factored into the assessment if being used as a deposit.

The Equity Loan is secured on the property by percentage and tops you up to your purchase price. It is repayable as that same percentage of the property’s value or eventual sale price.

The Equity Loan carries a low level monthly servicing fee payable to the HomeBuy Agent which is initially capped at 1.75% of the Equity Loans value. This fee will go up slightly with inflation each year and is set to be cheaper than say the equivalent monthly payment under a Shared Ownership Rent.

We work closely alongside the Housing Associations that have been nominated by the Government to offer MyChoice HomeBuy. It is only through these Associations that the MyChoiceHomeBuy programme can be applied for and accessed.
